More and more builders are turning to white membrane roof systems to reduce energy costs.
Major Roofing has played a part in helping Texas go green. Our roofing professionals install, maintain and repair white membrane roof systems on Commercial, industrial, and Multi-family buildings throughout Texas.
White membrane roof systems are known for being easily installed without disruption to daily operations. They are leak-proof and virtually maintenance free. Owing to technological advances, they can reduce cooling costs for buildings with A/C units, and help reduce temperatures on buildings with no cooling units.
White coatings can be applied to nearly any roofing surface, including metal roofs, single-ply rubber roofs and modified bitumen roofs. At Major Roofing, our roofing experts can talk with you about which type of white roofing — and which roofing materials — are best for your needs, whether they are TPO, EPDM, PVC, high reflectivity modified bitumen, or an elastomeric coating.
At Major Roofing, we are approved applicators of white membrane roof systems from most leading manufacturers:
How Long Will My Roof Last?
Our customers often wonder how long their membrane roofing systems will last. While we offer warranties up to 30 years, the longevity of a membrane roof actually depends on several factors: climate and environmental conditions, proper building and roof system design, material quality and suitability, proper application and regular maintenance.
At Major Roofing, our goal is to install lasting roofs that reduce our customers’ long-term costs. To do this, we pay attention to the details. Our roofs are marked by quality workmanship throughout installation, and we also offer regular maintenance to help preserve your roofing system.
Metal roof systems are best known for their distinctive look. While many architects and developers choose them because they are energy efficient, environmentally friendly and long lasting, they also have a distinctive appearance that sets buildings apart.
Major Roofing installs metal roofing systems on commercial and industrial buildings throughout Texas. Our work includes retail centers, mixed-use projects, office buildings and multi-family buildings.
As approved applicators of metal roof systems from the leading manufacturers, we ensure that your finished roof system is installed in compliance with the manufacturer’s requirements.
Our roofing professionals are approved applicators for most major manufacturers, including the ones below:
Available in a wide range of finishes and materials, metal roofs allow for maximum design freedom. But sophisticated designs require an experienced and highly-competent roofer. Major Roofing is well equipped for the job. We place great emphasis on workmanship and attention to detail.
Major Roofing also has its own architectural sheet metal shop, which enables us to fabricate roofing components to the needs of specific projects. We make and install gutters, counterflashings, copings and other architectural sheet metal roofing materials. This helps us better install standing seam metal roofing systems with complex requirements.
Known to be tough and durable, modified bitumen roofing systems are designed to withstand harsh weather conditions. These membrane roofs were introduced into the market in the 1970s and are found on many commercial and industrial buildings throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. Located in Texas, in the Breckenridge area, the professionals at Major Roofing are experienced installers of modified bitumen roof systems. We are approved applicators of these roof systems and other membrane roofing from most leading manufacturers:
When it comes to application methods, customers who choose modified bitumen roofs have options. Depending on their needs, modified bitumen roof systems may be installed by the torch-application method, “hot-mopped” like built up roof systems or applied with adhesives. Some modified bitumen roof manufacturers have also introduced self-adhering sheets, which cause the roofing membrane to adhere itself as it is rolled into place.
EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) is a widely used roofing material that is known for its durability and installation ease. These single-ply “rubber roofs” use a high-performance compound that weathers well in Texas winters and hot summers.
At Major Roofing, we have installed many EPDM roofing systems throughout the greater Texas area. Experience has shown us that EPDM is often the number-one roofing choice of architects, roof consultants and building owners, both for new construction and replacement roofing projects.
We are approved applicators of EPDM roof systems made by many major manufacturers, including the ones listed below:
In the last decade, there has been a tremendous push to make buildings more environmentally sustainable. EPDM is a sustainable roofing option in more ways than one. It is known for its long life and durability, which reduces the long-term costs of replacement and repairs.
More than that, it’s an energy saver. EPDM is available in black or white, which helps our customers choose the color that will reduce heating or cooling costs. We take a consultative approach, and talk to our customers in-depth about the rubber roofing system that will be best for their needs.
Studies have shown that, in northern climate zones, buildings with a dark colored EPDM “rubber roofs” actually save more energy than buildings with white roofing systems. The dark color of a rubber roof actually attracts the sun’s energy and can help building owners cut heating costs.
EPDM is also a good choice because it can be installed without too much disruption to students and teachers. The roofing membrane is rolled out across the roof and is mechanically attached, ballasted or adhered with a strong adhesive.
In built-up roofing systems (often called “tar and gravel” or “asphalt and gravel” roofs), redundancy is the key to making a strong and lasting roof. At Major Roofing, we place layer on layer of coal tar pitch or asphalt, alternated with plies of reinforcing felts. The overlapping layers ensure that no moisture gets through.
As experienced roofing professionals, we install built-up roof systems on commercial and industrial properties throughout the greater Texas area. We tailor built-up roofing systems to product specifications and budgets. Customers choose three, four or even five ply roofs according to their needs and budgets. Each layer creates added resistance to water and weather.
Our customers can also choose hybrid systems that combine built up roof membranes with one, two or three plies, and a modified bitumen membrane cap sheet.
At Major Roofing, we are approved to install these asphalt and tar and gravel built-up roof systems:
As a cost-effective and low-maintenance roofing option, built-up roof systems are the roof of choice among big box retail stores. Roofing professionals at Major Roofing have extensive experience installing them on retail centers throughout Texas.
For customers considering built-up roof systems on existing structures, the impact of installation on the business is important. We can work with your schedule, completing work quickly and effectively. Doing things right the first time is our goal. By implementing quality workmanship and following guidelines set by manufacturers’ standards, we install roofs that last longer and require fewer repairs in the future.
